ICN2 (www.icn2.cat) is a research institute located at the UAB campus in Bellaterra (20 km from Barcelona). ICN2 is one of the members of the Barcelona Nanocluster-Bellaterra, BNC-b, together with PRUAB, the UAB, two CSIC institutes (ICMAB and CNM) and the ALBA synchrotron. ICN2 integrates a wide spectrum of multidisciplinary competences within a close-cooperating scientific environment that includes advanced laboratories for research at the nanoscale and fine analysis, as well as new computational methods and numerical algorithms for studying nanoscale materials and systems. The main activities devoted to NFFA-Europe at ICN2 include material synthesis (pulsed laser deposition), advanced characterisations (XRD, SEM, TEM, AFM) and numerical simulations, focusing on the study and development of innovative materials and devices at the micro- and nano-scale.
ICN2 provides Transnational Access to users to carry out comprehensive research projects going from growth to characterisation and theoretical simulation.
