Its mission is to promote and enhance the technology and knowledge transfer activities of its members, encourage entrepreneurship through the creation of new businesses based on research and generally facilitate interaction between research, business and society.

UAB is located at the UAB campus in Bellaterra (20 km from Barcelona). It is one of the members of the Barcelona Nanocluster-Bellaterra, BNC-b, together with PRUAB, ICN2, two CSIC institutes (ICMAB and CNM) and the ALBA synchrotron.

UAB offers a wide range of characterization techniques at the micro- and nano-scale. The University participates in the NFFA-Europe project by providing access to several characterization techniques (XRD, SEM, TEM, and Confocal Microscopy). More information about the equipment available can be found at the Microscopy Facilities home page.
